Privacy policy

This site exists to answer questions about the BHMS Business & Hotel Management School master programmes. It collects the minimum needed to do that, and nothing for advertising.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is BHMS Business & Hotel Management School, Guetschstrasse 2-6, 6003 Lucerne, Switzerland. You can reach us about anything on this page at admission@bhms.ch or +41 76 344 33 29.

What we collect

We collect only what you type into a form or send us in a message:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number, if you give one
• The programme you are interested in, and your intended intake
• Anything else you choose to write in a message field

If you contact us on WhatsApp, we also see your WhatsApp profile name and phone number, because that is how WhatsApp works.

Our hosting provider records standard technical server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. We run no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no advertising profiling on this site.

Statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people actually read, so we can improve the site. It records anonymised page views, the country you are browsing from, the device type, and clicks on things like the WhatsApp button or a programme page. It is set to anonymise your IP address, and the advertising features are switched off — we do not run ads and we do not build advertising audiences.

Whether it runs at all depends on where you are. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, analytics stays off until you press OK on the banner at the bottom of the page. Elsewhere it is on by default and the same banner lets you turn it off with No thanks. Your choice is remembered in your own browser under ga-consent; clearing your browser storage brings the banner back so you can choose again.

One thing worth being straight about: this site shares a single Google Analytics measurement ID with the other BHMS programme microsites, so visits across those sites are counted in one place rather than in separate accounts. Reports are split by which site the visit came from. We do not use it to build a profile of you or to target advertising at you.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry: to send you programme and fee information, to confirm entry requirements and intake dates, to arrange an admissions conversation, and to follow up on an application you have started. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.

Our lawful basis

Your consent. You give it by submitting the form or by messaging us — both are voluntary, and neither is required to read this site. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights below); withdrawing it does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for as long as it takes to answer you and to support an application you are actively considering, and no longer than we have a reason to. If you tell us you are no longer interested, or ask us to delete your data, we delete it.

Who else touches the data

A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so this site can function:

• Netlify — hosts this website and receives form submissions, along with the standard server logs that come with hosting.
• Google — enquiries are stored in a Google Sheets-based record so the admissions team can see and respond to them, and Google Analytics provides the visit statistics described above.
• WhatsApp / Meta — only if you choose to start a WhatsApp conversation with us. In that case your message is handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy as well as this one.

These providers operate internationally, which means your data may be processed outside Switzerland. Beyond them, we share data with no one — except where Swiss law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Access — tell you what data we hold about you
• Correct — fix anything that is wrong or out of date
• Delete — erase your enquiry data entirely
• Withdraw consent — stop us contacting you, which we will do immediately

Write to admission@bhms.ch and say which of those you want. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no charge.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles data, we update this page and the date at the top of it.
