What the fee covers
A bed and three meals, not an invoice
Swiss living costs are the reason most people hesitate about studying here. BHMS removes the question by folding it into the programme price: the CHF 5'900 living-expenses component covers 24 weeks of shared standard accommodation (2–4 bed) and meals.
That sits inside the CHF 40'600 MSc total alongside CHF 31'100 tuition, CHF 2'600 operating costs and the CHF 1'000 application fee. The MBA with Specialisation follows the same structure at CHF 43'600.

Included in the CHF 40'600 MSc total and the CHF 43'600 MBA total. On the 18-month MSc + MBA route the equivalent components are CHF 3'900 operating costs and CHF 8'850 living expenses for 36 weeks.
Living here
Lucerne is not a compromise
Lucerne sits in central Switzerland where the lake meets the mountains — a compact old town of covered bridges and painted facades, with water on one side and peaks on the other. It is small enough to cross on foot and central enough that the rest of the country is a train ride away.
Excursions and field trips are part of the operating-costs component, so getting out into that landscape is not a separate line in your budget.

Is accommodation included in the fee?
Yes. Shared standard accommodation (2–4 bed) and meals are included in every master's fee as the living-expenses component — CHF 5'900 covering 24 weeks. There is no separate rent to budget for on top of the CHF 40'600 MSc total.
Can I have a room to myself?
Yes, as a paid upgrade on top of the standard fee. A Studio Standard at the Lakeside Campus is CHF 6'600 per semester, and a Studio Superior at the City Campus is CHF 7'500 per semester.
Which campus will I study at — Lucerne or Zurich?
It depends on the programme. International Tourism Management, Wine and Beverage Business Management, Culinary Entrepreneurship and the MBA with Specialisation run in Lucerne. Business, Sports and Event Management, Business, Banking and Finance, Business and Airline Management run in Zurich. Global Business Management and International Hospitality Business Management are delivered at both Lucerne and Zurich.
What do the operating costs of CHF 2'600 cover?
Operating costs cover mandatory health and medical insurance, visa and B-permit administration plus local tax, e-campus and internet access, excursions and field trips, and your first airport pick-up.
Do I need to arrange Swiss health insurance and my visa myself?
No — both are handled through the operating-costs component of CHF 2'600, which includes mandatory health and medical insurance and the visa/B-permit and local tax administration.

Every MSc is awarded by BHMS and Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen — and Semester 2 can be spent on an optional six-month industry internship. Swiss hospitality placements carry a gross minimum of CHF 2'390/month. How the internship works →
