Luxury brand management master's: the MBA route

What a master's in luxury management covers at BHMS, how the specialisation fits into a one-year MBA in Lucerne, and what it costs.

At BHMS, a luxury brand management master's is the one-year MBA with Specialisation with Luxury Brand Management as your specialisation. You study in Lucerne, graduate with an MBA awarded by BHMS and Robert Gordon University (UK), and pay CHF 44'700 all-inclusive, about US$54,000 at the October 2026 rate.

It isn't a standalone "MA in Luxury Management", and it's worth knowing that before you compare programmes. What you get is a full MBA, with luxury as the lens for your Semester 2 project.

What you study

Semester 1 is six months on campus: eight core modules of 15 credits each, 120 credits in total.

Semester 2 is the specialisation: an independent research project or a business consultancy assignment in luxury brand management. BHMS describes the specialisation as learning to strengthen a brand's presence, cultivate exclusivity and deliver exceptional customer experiences, with the emphasis on brand positioning, heritage and compelling narratives: tradition and innovation held together. In the same six months you can take an optional internship in Switzerland or worldwide, or return to full-time work.

Why study luxury at a hospitality school?

Luxury is sold through service as much as product: the hotel arrival, the boutique appointment, the dinner. Studying business inside a hospitality school puts you in a culture built on customer satisfaction, attention to detail and service excellence, which is the everyday reality of luxury brands. BHMS is ranked #12 in Hospitality & Leisure Management in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.
